San Miguel Escobar

On our last trip to Guatemala, we toured farms around Antigua.  Through talking to farmers and cupping their coffees, we were able to pinpoint this as our favorite.  The San Miguel Cooperative clearly took great care in prepping this clean lot.  And, by selling directly to roasters like us, they get 100% of the profits for their work.  The 30 members of the Coop grow these beans on small (3 acre avg.) lots in the foothills of the Agua volcano.  The mineral rich soil, low humidity, and intense sun encourages strong healthy trees that yield coffees famous for elegance, richness, and sweetness.
